In Africa, there is a kid who may be the Elon Musk of Ghana
    • 00:00:09
Why because he built an entire car from scratch that can drive like this
    • 00:00:18
Who is this kid? How did he build this car? It can this car drive itself? Just like a test
    • 00:00:28
In this tiny house in Ghana, I found Kelvin
    • 00:00:33
Hi, I'm Calvin and people call him the elements of Ghana if it wasn't obvious by now
    • 00:00:39
      Kelvin is poor
    • 00:00:41
He grew up in Ghana with the average person makes less than 300 bucks a month, but that did not stop his Ambitions to become an engineer
    • 00:00:52
So ever since he was 10 years old
    • 00:00:55
He was in his garage building robots
    • 00:00:58
Toy planes and even vacuum cleaners out of the stuff
    • 00:01:02
      He could find around him
    • 00:01:04
I realize I have a passion in me of creating machines
    • 00:01:08
I didn't go to any engineering school
    • 00:01:11
I taught myself this kid taught himself everything including how to build a car a real moving car for four years Calvin went to car shops to learn about cars
    • 00:01:28
He collected scrap metals from junkyards construction sites everywhere from the beginning when I started building this family people didn't understand what I was really trying to do
    • 00:01:40
They were trying to discourage me
    • 00:01:43
Some people were even telling me that I'm even going much bit by bit piece of metal by piece of metal his car was taking shape, but Kelvin couldn't just get everything from the junkyard
    • 00:01:58
He's like pigeons cost money more than his family could afford
    • 00:02:02
So he took a part-time jobs to get money to buy an engine for his car
    • 00:02:11
I mean, I goes sometimes helping the construct this building selling scrap materials to get money three years later at the age of 18 after many many failures Calvin finally finished his own
    • 00:02:28
Kelvin mobile it opens up words like a Ferrari can go up to 300 horsepower has a wheel have mirror a gear stick everything you can find in the normal car even a radio for music and
    • 00:02:45
how much did it cost him if I have to get it would be less than $3,000 into town now Calvin is the only one in his town with a car and every time he takes his
    • 00:02:58
Our out everyone will come out to why take the car outside many people who excited in do you like to take pictures with its many people have been motivating me to not give up from their
    • 00:03:18
waist and what you have been saying, it's motivates me to do it better than how I wish to do and he is not stopping there in the future
    • 00:03:28
      Just like Elon Musk
    • 00:03:29
And Tesla Kelvin wants to build his own electric car that can drive on its own again guys to need an electric not to drive itself and also prevent accidents English and his eventual dream is even
    • 00:03:45
      bigger
    • 00:03:46
It's to build airplanes and rocket ships to reach New Heights and new planets
    • 00:03:55
Just think about this for a I've kid from a poor family in Ghana with zero money zero help was able to build a car from scratch if the same Talent existed in a developed country
    • 00:04:13
He would be working at Tesla
    • 00:04:16
But for now you'll find him in his garage in Ghana self teaching himself how to succeed
    • 00:04:28
